Building business process transformation with Power Automate

At Simplex, our goal is to architect automation solutions for our customers with respect to their business processes.

With an acceleration in cloud adoption across the industry in the last few years and the wide adoption of Microsoft Cloud solutions, Microsoft Power Platform has emerged as a preferred platform for low-code tools to accelerate business and improve business outcomes.

Power Platform enables end-to-end business solutions that integrate with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure, and hundreds of other apps. Part of the Power Platform, Power Automate is a service that helps you create automated workflows between your favorite apps and services to synchronize files, get notifications, collect data, and more.

We are now engaging with our clients to understand their business processes and explore the possibility of Power Automate to do more by streamlining repetitive tasks and business processes, increasing efficiency and reducing costs on the way. We use process mining to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for workflow automation, robotic process automation (RPA), and digital process automation (DPA).

According to a Microsoft commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting, a composite organisation realises substantial financial benefits using Power Platform premium capabilities, including a 140% return on investment and $14.25 million in benefits due to streamlined business and development processes and proved business outcomes.

Internally within our organization as well, we use Power Automate to improve the internal business processes in areas such as Expense Claim and JML processes. We engaged with business to understand the current process, planned and designed the automated workflow in Power Automate, and then implemented the solution. While we improved the manual business process through automation, we’re also able to orchestrate processes end-to-end and trigger microservices as well as send automatic reminders for past due tasks.

Getting started is easy. Anyone from a basic business user to an IT professional can create automated processes using Power Automate’s no-code/low-code platform. Additionally, there are a lot of pre-built and custom templates for cloud flows in Power Automate allowing you to automate tasks or processes. You can find the Power Automate documentation here.

Power Automate essentially empowers everyone to build automated processes using low-code, drag-and-drop tools. It’s easy to automate repetitive tasks with hundreds of pre-built connectors, thousands of templates, as well as AI assistance now.
